LHS (Luxury Horse Shit) A terrible piece of crap I once owned. 1995 Chrysler LHS. It was good for dragging my shit back and forth between school but that's about it. All the pics I have are from after I got in an accident. The accident happened in October of '02, I believe, up in Troy. Some Troylette highschoolers stopped short for a dog and I nailed them. Had I been driving a car that didn't weigh 2 tons and if the steering wheel was actually attached to the wheels then I may have avoided them. However, Chrysler's magical engineering made sure I could not avoid them, even with plenty of room. I yanked the wheel to the left and nothing happened. The road was dry and it was cool. The LHS just kept going straight. It was like there was a spunge between me and the road. Had I been in a such a situation before then I would've known not to drive the LHS, but I didn't find out how sluggish the thing was until it was way too late. The kids were fine, but then the scumbag parents tried to sue for neck damage or something. Ah well, that's what insurance is for. I ended up selling the car to Koreans down in Queens via eBay. I got a whole 500 big ones. Serious Note: Don't ever drive a Chrysler sedan of the LH body style. I did a little research and found many, many cases brought against Chrysler for these cars siting steering loss issues that ended up seriously injuring and even killing people. Goddamn that's ugly. Notice my improvised hood latch. (It was better than it's predecessor: a rusty hanger. The hood only had to blow open once and dent the roof on the highway for me to learn that a hanger was not a good latch). Notice duct tape supports and hood latch again. It really wasn't that bad looking, oh yeah, except for the front. These pics were taken directly after the accident, before I used a fence puller harnessed to a tree to bend the front frame back into position. I used all my caveman-like ability to stomp around on the hood and make it flat again, so it could be retained. Various broken internals. It looks like an airbox, radiator and electric fan. I actually found a donor LHS about 40 minutes north at a pick'n'pull where I was able to find all the replacement parts I needed. |
